It's The Item Upgrades Case Study You'll Never Forget

Path of Exile Item Upgrades

Upgrades to items are a frequent and essential way to boost the performance of many items in Path of Exile. They can provide extra damage, AD or even affixes.

Sometimes, however, upgraded Common and Magic gear is beaten out by Rare-grade gear because of their higher requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades can be applied to both weapon and armor items. They improve the stats of the item that they're attached to. Armor upgrades are available in the world of the game and purchased from Blacksmiths on bonfires. Alternatively, they can also be salvaged from items with upgrade components inside them, with a professional or higher salvage kit.

The amount of damage that an armored item or weapon will absorb is contingent on the level of its upgrades. The absorption of damage by an item of armor will increase as it is upgraded to the maximum upgrade level. However, it's important note that this will also increase its weight, which will cause it to weigh more than it was before.

There are a few different types of armor upgrades that are available in the game and they all have different effects. For example, some upgrades will give the armor a certain number of additional health points, while others will make it lighter and stronger. The name of the upgrade will tell you the kind of upgrade that an item will receive, as shown below.

Some of the upgrades are also magic or a mix of technology and magic which is identified by a "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Some upgrades also require a charge to use, which are identified by the "Charges" entry in the table below. The charges for these upgrades change every day or never expire, dependent on the upgrade.

Iron Ore is the cheapest method to improve your armor. You can locate it by exploring and looting small chests. Titanium is more expensive but it can be obtained from smelters located in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, such as the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be applied on high-level armor pieces. These upgrades can give players a significant increases in stats and are definitely worth the cost.

The process of upgrading an armor piece to its maximum upgrade level will dramatically increase its defense capabilities but the wearer must be aware that increasing its weight can drastically decrease its agility and speed. It is not recommended to upgrade armor above +9. The added defense usually isn't worth the weight and power expenses of the upgrades.

Weapons

Weapon upgrades allow players to improve the effectiveness of certain aspects of a weapon. Upgrades can boost the accuracy of a rifle, or the damage that shotgun shells do. Certain weapons also come with enhancements that enhance their intrinsic characteristics. Frictionless materials (improves stability, and reduces weapon overheating), and Kinetic coils (increases the projectile's acceleration to cause more damage) are two examples.

The majority of upgrades for weapons require the use of a whetblade, or one of the three Power Dices and a different amount of Minerals and Erons.  item upgrading  can be obtained by completing side quests or by killing a certain amount of bosses and monsters.

To upgrade an equipment set, weapon piece or Whetblade, you must visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee of a specific amount of Bars. The higher the upgrade level, the more bars are required to complete it. The cost of the upgrades will be lower if you have more than one of the upgrade materials.

In Chapter 2: Season 5, the way you upgrade your equipment and weapon sets changed a little. Prior to Chapter 2: Season 5, you could upgrade your weapon or equipment by paying a certain number of Bars. You could continue to do this until you reached the maximum upgrade level for the weapon or equipment, after which upgrades would reset.

You can still do this but the process is based on RNG and low on agency. Instead, you're better off visiting stores and purchasing equipment that has low upgrade levels but good base scores and stat distributions. These items will have a better chance of granting you the highest tier benefits and blessings.

To increase  upgrade item , many players be more inclined to upgrade their weapons. In addition to these, players should consider upgrading the weapons that are most popular with their squadmates to increase their power and effective. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R, which will enhance its effectiveness when paired with experts in biotics like Grunt and Tali.

Jewels

Jewels can be used to increase a stat or provide secondary effects on weapons and armor. Jewelry crafting is the process of making them, where you combine a gemstone with a number specific reagents on a jewelry table. The higher the tier of the gemstone has, the more powerful its secondary effect. These reagents are available from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses all over the world, or through finding Legendary Gear. You can also buy them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.

The quality of a diamond can be improved at the Jeweler, with stages that vary from Crude to Royal. The boosts to stats will differ depending on the level the jewel is at when it is inserted into weapons, jewelry, or other gear.

All tiers of jewels are crafted at the Jeweler, with the exception of the rare and legendary jewels which require you to be at a high enough level to obtain them. Jewels can be replaced by another jewel without damaging the original. However it is only possible to replace one jewel in an item of equipment only once.

The use of more jewels in a move can make it feel more comfortable and is typically used for aesthetic reasons. In addition to improving performance, the jewels also create an area that is stronger than metal, which means that repeated friction from pivots won't cause damage as easily.

A Glyphmaster can provide glyphs to enhance the appearance of your weapons and shields. These provide a small bonus and are able to be swapped easily, but are not guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs, like jewelry, can be upgraded by the Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Crystals. Glyphs may also be removed and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as traits or aegis cannot be exchanged and can only be retrieved with an Upgrade extractor, or salvaging with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage.

Trinkets

Trinkets can be used to provide your hero with various small, but useful benefits. You can find them in the starter area as loot or as personal story rewards. They can also be obtained from vendors as well as through doing road interaction. They can also be crafted by jewelers and later found or purchased from the Trading Post.

The first trinket a player unlocks will be the cloak, which grants an unimportant but beneficial boost to speed of movement and evasion. After that, they can get amulets, rings, and necklaces in the same fashion to how the player obtains weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment comes with a slot for an upgrade which can be universal or jewel. Universal upgrades are smaller and can be utilized on any equipment. Jewels are not upgradeable or replaced and only work with certain trinkets.

These trinkets can provide additional bonuses and abilities that are active even when the hero isn't in combat. This lets the hero be more effective while inactive and also helps fill in the void of a solid team or any slots in the talent tree that would normally be filled with hero's ideal statistics.

A good rule of thumb for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you aren't planning to replace soon, followed by any items with desirable stats but less important than the iLevel of the item being upgraded. This is especially true if you want to upgrade multiple stats on an item. It's better to upgrade one important stat than two less important ones.

At the beginning of the game, players who are in the jungle will typically want to upgrade their trinket to a red, while top and mid players will usually opt for a green or pink ward (depending on the matchup). These choices will have a major impact on the hero's ability to control his map.

In addition to the items mentioned above, players will find other trinkets in the form of rewards and trophies throughout the game. These can be obtained through completing certain milestones within the story. For example, completing a chapter’s main quest or defeating the boss. They can be viewed by selecting the relevant achievement from the reward tab of the hero menu.
